Evaluation Question 1

This is the side by side comparison of our title opening and spiderman 2 title opening on Camtasia. We tried to follow this opening in our own film opening.

The convention of a film opening, tells the audience many things.

  • Title sequence. It introduces the key characters and the people behind the making of the movie.
  • After the title sequence, the location/settings is introduced.
  • The opening of the movie sets the mood and tone.
  • The film opening normally leaves unanswered questions - "enigma". This leaves the audience in suspense and they crave to watch it more.

Evaluation Question 1

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Films usually open by showing the production and distribution logo video. In that order, we have done so as do most films.
Title sequences is something which is shown through out the opening scene of a film. Giving early credits to the director to some of the actors as well as the editor. There is a convention in title sequences  although if you look at films, you find them to be similar but sometimes rearranged in different places. I have compared mine to "Reservoir Dogs" title sequence.
